Going Pro-Touring

2 Attachment(s)
I own a 1969 Camaro SS and I am starting my Pro-Touring project this February. I am researching and purchasing parts right now. I am buying the DSE Hydroformed sub frame. I have had a ProCharged LS6 built by http://www.golenengineservice.com/ . I know the engine is going to fit into the sub frame. What I do need, is some advice on which headers will fit the frame. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :D

Since that is a brand new subframe it's hard to say if any of the currently available headers from ATS, S&P, or Hooker will clear it, or if it requires a custom dedicated set. I would talk to DSE.

That's going to be one nice ride there brother! sorry no header info!

Get the motor on the frame, mock up everything and have a custom set made would be my opinion. Sounds like a great project and custom headers will just add to the car in looks and function without any ground clearance, etc. issues.

As Jody said, talk to DSE. I'm sure they have, or know of, a solution.

Welcome to the site.

Thanks guys...I have e-mailed DSE about this already. I am sure they have a long list of things going on because of the holidays. Looking foward to talking with you all. Thanks again.

If the DSE subframe will accomodate headers for a stock subframe, go with the ATS Tri-Y's if the budget allows. They are the best you are going to do short of a full custom set of Tri-Y's for your specific application designed/built by the "good guys" (i.e. Burns, FWRC, yadda yadda) and won't fall short of full customs by much in the performance department.

I am not very far from you

as I am in Charlotte. I have a guy that use to build headers for the Hendrick cup cars. He is actually doing a set for Hendrick now. LS7 in a 59 Corvette.
Anyway does a great job around the $2000 mark. I have not checked his pricing lately, but I wil be happy to forward you his name and number. Here is one of mine that he did.

Yeah Man...I'll take the contact. Thanks.

His name is

Jim Pettigrew 704-283-6296 Tell him I sent you. He does more than just headers and exhaust. He is the one doing Jimmy Johnson's 67 with the Cup motor.

Let me know if you are ever down in the Charlotte area.
