Newb Mopar Project

Hi, I'm new here, I'm 22 and I am working on my first car project. I bought a 1970 plymouth duster about a year and a half ago. I chose a duster because I dont see too many of them, it something different, it was cheap, and I can get parts cheap from my work. This thing was pretty dangerous to drive with the no feel power steering and old tires that were on it, so I took it apart. Over that time I've just lost most of the bolts and lost some other small parts. The body is mint with no rust and the paint is perfect besides a couple tiny chips here and there so I won't touch the paint. It came with a tired old 318, 4 speed, 2.71 6 cylinder rear end, drum brakes at all 4 corners, and everything was painted a sky blue even though the car is a dark red. This will not be in any way near close to the amount of work and money spent on like most of these georgous cars on this site but I am gonna do the best with the time and money I have. Here are the list of mods I plan to do the car over the next couple months, should be done by april sometime.

Exterior

-71 sharktooth grill conversion
-Modern reproduction headlights with HID's
-Twin style hood scoops
-Custom sheetmetal front lip
-Aluminum rims painted black to look like steelies with nascar looking rubber (doing this because 20's will cost too much at this point, will drop for them later though)
-Possible ducktail spoiler, not sure if it will look good though

Interior

-Modern open loop style black carpet
-Repaint/refinish all interior trim panels and dash to a semi gloss black
-Autometer pro comp black face gauges mounted on to a custom stock style
cluster (wood grain cut out and a sheet of 3/8'' aluminum painted black in place to mount gauges)
-Procar rally black vinyl wrapped front seats
-Recovered black vinyl rear seats
-LAP BELTS!
*it will pretty much looks stock, nothing crazy, it won't even have a stereo*

Engine

-Stock block 340 bored to 350 CI (349.9CI)
-Stock steel crank
-Forged rods and federal mogul forged pistons
-Chrysler cast iron performance modern reproduction heads
-Comp cams hydraulic tappet cam
-Chrysler single plain aluminum intake manifold
-MSD ignition ( distributor, wires, MSD AL box, coil)
-Holley 750cfm carb
-Dual ram air cleaner with ducting going to grill (maybe, see how it looks)
-Headman headers
-3 inch flow master exhaust with X pipe and 2chamber mufflers
Est. power: 400+ hp (being built at local performace machine shop, Beaty&Woods)
* 150shot nitrous plate in the future with twin purges out the front grille*

Drivetrain

-904 transmission (because its smaller in size)
-Cheetah reverse, fully manual valve body
-Hurst quarter stick pistol grip shifter
-3500 stall converter
-8 3/4 rear end with 4.10 gears

Suspension

-Willwood 4 piston disc brake conversion (front)
-Super stock leaf springs
-2 inch lowering blocks in the back (gonna slam it as much as I can)
-Manual steering box conversion

I couldnt afford to get an artist to draw a beautiful picture for me but I did manage to take an existing duster and photoshopped it to what I want it to look like. I'm calling this Project: Dusterbd!! (I know it probably isn't an original name but oh well its all I can think of)

*Small update*

Tranny came in a couple weeks ago, took it apart at work, ordered new seal kit, clutches, bans, cheetah manual reverse valve body. Putting it together this weekend. When I get the dyno numbers from my engine I am going to order a custom converter.

*SMALL UPDATE*

Just showing some progress. Engine is just waiting on the camshaft and rocker arms and it should be done in a couple weeks. Will post pics of that if soon. Did a heck of alot of painting. Painted all the inner wheel wells and lower front control arms, I am going to wait until I get the old upper ball joints out until I paint the upper control arms. Cleaned up and painted some of the engine bay.

If your wondering why I painted black so far up the inner fenders is because the red paint on the other side you can't see was chipped and looked really bad and I wanted to cover that up so I had to paint that high up to cover it, and had to match the other side. I didn't want to paint the whole engine bay black and I have no idea what the paint code is to repaint the whole thing red.
