I'm having trouble figuring out what class my Chevelle would run in Solo II Auotcross. The rule book is confusing to me. The car is nowhere near stock, so that's adding to my confusion. Any thoughts?

It's going to depend on how unstock it is. Tires, suspension, engine all play a role, but if everything is real custom, then may just have you in open class where all the quick autox cars are. A Chevelle is not going to do well there. How modified is your car?

Well... having said that, you'll either fall into SP (street prepared), SM (street modified), P (prepared) or M (modified).

It really depends on the actual modifiactions. What exactly has been modified ??

I'm thinking I'll be in SM2. Here's my specs:

Engine bay: 2006 Corvette LS7 (7.0 liter) with headers and no catalytic convertors, K&N Cone filter, Big Stuff FAST II engine software, custom modified dry sump oil tank. Aluminum radiator.
Exhaust: Magnaflow 3" dual exhaustTransmission: Rockland Gear/Tremec 6-Speed T-56 Viper transmission. Hurst Shifter.
Rear end: Currie/Ford 9", Detroit Locker Truetrack limited slip differential
Frame and suspension: stock frame rewelded, re-inforced and powdercoated. Complete Hotchkis TVS suspension with Bilstein shocks, Tubular upper and lower Control Arms, Detroit Speed and Engineering Quick Ratio steering box. All new Energy Suspension poly bushings.
Brakes: Front: Baer “6S” Monoblock 6-piston caliper w/ 14" 2-piece slotted rotors. Rear: “Baer Claw Track”, 13" slotted rotor.
Wheels and tires: 18" Bonspeed Delta, 275/35/18 front, 295/35/18 rear, Goodyear Eagle F1 tires
Interior: Sparco Racing seats with 6-point harnesses and Sparco racing steering wheel.

I really could care less about being "competitive". I just want to drive the car hard. I don't want to show up and look like a dumba** because I didn't know what class I was in.

In my day they would have put you in a open class or modified class. You have street tires which will keep you out of the open class. Anything lower then a 40 treadwear rating would have been in a open class then.

Whats going on Eric. Cool to see my Apache Bro back to Lat-g. I remember a long time ago before you won the optima competition you mentioned that we might know some of the same people. We lost a couple of longbows and pilots over in Iraq and was wondering if you knew them. They were good guys, I have a lot of respect for them. Especialy Mr Mariotti. I had many conversations about flight theory with him. He flew Augusta's for an oil company before joing the Army.

No. I got out of the army. I am a civi now. I have been considering offers to go over to iraq as a civilian. I have been offered 170,000 tax free to repair AH64D's in the sand box. I was totally for it, but my family freaked out. I have already put them threw a lot. I curently own a security company here in California.

Hmmm, $170k? Per year?
