Photos of installed ATS tall spindles?
Did searches and found a ton of threads talking about these but couldn't find any installed pics.

How about this...
|
Thanks Tyler.
I am having my Camaro built by Robert Miller up in Carson City (Callaway Motorsports). He said and called and talked to one of you guys and the tall spindle really isn't really recommended for a lot of street use. I told him I would try to find some photos of them installed for him. Great piece - but my car is 99.9% street. thanks for the links. |
I'm not sure he spoke with us about that then. We always use these on the street, as that is what we designed them for. They also work great in a competition environment.

Hmm... weird. I will call him today to talk about this.
thanks Tyler. |
Tyler - Here is what he was reading from your site FAQ to think they were more for track and not so much for the street.
I have the Guldstrand Mod or DSE coil over system on my car. Which AFX spindles should I use? We recommend the stock version of the AFX spindle for use on the F body in these instances. A tall spindle could be substituted in the event of a race only vehicle, as the camber gain is too aggressive for street driving. |
Do you have a Guldstand mod, or weld in DSE coil over kit? If so, we say to use the stock height spindle vs the tall spindle because the camber gain is too agressive when both are used (Relocated upper control arm w/Tall AFX). That statement has nothing to do with the strength or durablility of the spindle on the street.

I have QA1 coilovers but it sounds like they are much different from the weld-in DSE coilovers, which I was not aware of. Since I don't have the relocated upper control arm either (I am using AirRide Strong Arms) the tall spindle sounds like a good thing for me.
thanks for clarifying, Tyler. |
