Project Plain Brown Wrapper- 85 Buick Regal (Renamed)

Afternoon,

Well the fun is about to begin. I've had the suspension in the car for while now. Now I get to start the fun stuff, I purchases a ratted out 75 Caprice with a bone stock 400 in it. Let the building begin, mods that will be updated in here as I proceed over the next few weeks:

Arizen Racing seats - Ordered
Engine build up - to start next week
3.42 Posi upgrade
Th350 build-up - started

For those of you that have read this, I want to paint the engine block a gunmetal or charcaol color. Who out there can recommend some paint?
I am going for the very industrial look in this engine bay.

CHROME I DON'T NEED NO STINKIN CHROME!

I will post pictures tomorrow of the Buick and that ratted out Caprice donor car.

Progress up to Ramp Up

Well things have been slow to date...but the parts are starting to arrive. The first, are the Arizen Seats:

I have to say, that I am nothing short of impressed with these seats. they exceeded my expectations.

Also, at this point the build up of my 406 has gotten underway. I am expecting a shopping list from my builder sometime today.

Soon I will start taking the buick apart to prepare it for the 406. Update the fuel system, some minor painting and cleanup of the engine bay.

My post should become more frequent.

Looks good, what wheels are on it ?

Buick Motorsports 05-12-2007 11:06 AM

Those are ROH wheels that i got from Group A wheels. They are the ZS Racing 17 x 8.5 with a 4.47" backspace.

So it continues.....

I failed to keep this thread alive last year, as I ran iton one headache after another. This is no exageration. The car was slated to have the motor swap done and be road worthy by June.

After all the headaches...I got the car running in October! Took it out around the block a couple of times....get into the garage......SNAP goes the shifter cable.

A few colorful words.....on the dollies, into the corner it went. It sits there to this day.

So as spring approaches, my spirit has returned. I just finished ordering my AutoMeter Ultra-Lite II gauges and dash insert for those gauges.

Also ordered a set of digital LED tailights for the car as well. Hoping to add HID fronts soon.

I will post some new pics as soon as I can. Thanks to all who read this and I hope that I will be able to feed off the enthusiam of my fellow hobbyists.

Hey Alex,

I am very impressed with the seats from Arizen. Great product at a reasonable price. Getting those mounted will be one of the first things done this year.

I can hardly wait to put some miles on the car this year. Where can see more pics of your car?

Here's a sample pic of the gauge panel layout I'll be adding to the car.
