Another set back
4 Attachment(s)
I just got done with modifying my firewall and trany tunnel to accommodate my engine set back. I am not sure on the final numbers as to how much the motor is set back over stock because I have nothing to reference stock location relative to mine I just moved it back far enough for the balancer to clear the rack mount with a little room to spare.
I am just wondering what every one else has for set back if any. Brian |

looks awesome, killer work, i think tyler and phase shifts set backs are around 6 inches, and look to be similer to yours, are those c5 or sed spindles??
what rear suspension are you fabbing? jake |
Looking good, Brian. Is that a wheelbarrow ala Banks?
|
Good eye Scott it is a wheelbarrow. I actually got the idea from Wayne Due when I was talking to him about Tyler’s car. His made the same way as mine. It must be split in half and widened about 4 inches to be wide enough for the motor to fit in side. I am sure that they had to due the same thing on the banks car but speed lefever is a better sheet metal guy than I am so you cant see where it is widen, but on mine you can.
As for the spindles I made them as well as the rest of the frame, they are the JPIFS spindles. The rear will be a three link. My car is basically the camaro version of II Much minus the perimeter frame it has all the same suspension. Brian |
great work! that firewall looks killer

Good job Brian. Besides a real clean look and solving a clearance issue you get another good weight balance improvement.

I love pics!
