Any good suppliers for, "Tilt Front Ends"?

Does anyone know some good suppliers of, "Tilt Front Ends", for 1969 Camaro's?

I found www.usbody.com, but that is all so far.

I look forward to any information.

Thanks,

Ty O'Neal

A tilt front end for a 69? I think I would advise against that Ty.

I think he is talking about a full front fiberglass clip, no?

What he said! Those went out before mullets did. Probably even before mullets were "in". Removable front clips with a seperate hood are fine for Pro Mod cars that you need to service quickly between rounds, otherwise keep the fenders in place and save weight with a fiberglass hood and aluminum heads among many other places that are tasteful.

To all:

Thanks for the feedback.

The reason for my inquiry was:

I have always liked the way the Corvettes opened up. It made getting to everything pretty easy to get to.

I guess a removable front clip with a working hood would serve the same purpose. (Fiberglass would work, but CG to go with one of those CG hoods would be pretty cool)

With the lack of strength in my right shoulder (Right Shoulder replacement X 2), I was investigating what options were available. I really like turning a wrench on my own car, but I just can't get to things as easily now.

I guess I'm looking for Handicap Accessibility to my car.

I definitely don't want anything to look cheap, it's more of a convenience than anything else.

I do work with some Rodder friends of mine, and when they can lift off the 3 piece hood on a '32 highboy, it's makes tuning much more fun.

There maybe nothing I can do, but all I can do is ask, right?

Thanks again for your input. If you come across any anything or have some thoughts, my ears and eyes are always open.

Best Regards,

Ty O'Neal

Hey Ty. I don't think anyone makes a top notch tilt front end for the first gen. Not much call for it these days I would guess. I saw a second gen at a local dealership here and it had a tilt front and it looked really bad. I was really looking at the car, and then the dealer goes "well look what this can do" and I told him whoever did it did a terrible job. He just sort of went on about how unique it was and I just walked out. If you look at your high end cars, none of those have it. I think it was more of a look what I can do 80's style. I think your best bet is too remove the hood if you're going to do anything hardcore in the engine bay. It sounds like the questions you are asking is that you want to build a really sweet car, I just think this would kind of make it a bit silly, even though it might benefit you for working on. I also think you seriously diminish the value of the car by doing that. Don't take what I say as criticism, I'm here learning just like you and thought I would give you my 2 1/2 cents worth.

I say go for it. But take your time to make it real good. That would be something totally new for a while.

Tilt Front End

I may be mistaken, but I think Electric-Life power windows was retailing a power reverse-hood opening system for 1st gen Camaros. I seem to recall seeing it a SEMA, I believe.

Thanks guys for all your help.

I definitely don't want it to look cheezy. (Especially for what it will cost finished)

I'll take a look at the reverse electric hood kits.

I really like the black billet hinges. It would be a shame to not get a pair eventually.

Thanks again for the input. If you think of anything else, I would be interested in hearing about it.

Ty O'Neal
