powder coating prep ?'s

I have a set of bb cast alum. polished valve covers. I am going to powder coat them silver. Just wondering if I need to sand with 600 to knock the shine off? Or something coarser. Thanks Cory

bead/sand blasting is the prep done before powdercoating.
