Body Rotisserie?
 

Hope this is in the right forum. Searching and checking all of the photos here, I see alot of cars on rotisseries. Where did you get them or make them? If their homemade any one good any suggestions? Mentally walking through my prjoect, it would be tons easier. Thanks :)

Here are some from my last car. I got mine from "Accessible Systems". But if you wanted to build one it wouldn't be hard if you had a welder. Also if anyone is interested in how "soda" blasting works one of the pic.s was taken after blasting.

My father and I built the one for my car. Although I don't have any pics because my site is down. I used 2.5" oil pipe, although if I was going to build another I would go with square tubing. It worked well though. If you are going to build one make sure and add 2 locking points on each side and add grease certs so it will turn easier. I would recommend "locking" casters as well because you will probably move it around the shop from fabrication to body work and so on. I wish I had demensions of it. I had a guy come by last week to get demensions to build one for his 442. I had post over at PT or search some threads I know this is a subject that has been talked about and covered over there.

Whatever you decide, make sure it has those hydraulic shocks on it. I've heard they are a God send.

Yes, You'll want hydraulic rams. I haven't bought any for mine yet, and it was a huge pain in the ass getting my car up high enough without them to rotate it.

Cool thanks for the info guys. Just to keep the fab skills up to date, I might venture into building one. I have checked on the 2 listed here. On the AccSytems, I think< they list a "balancer" including with all there bottoms up lifts. How did you all balance your cars on them? Trail and error, or anyone have a pic of that balancer? Thanks again. :thumbsup:

The balancer is just an adjustment that allows you to raise and lower the car while keeping the pivot point stationary.

I don't have any pics of mine handy, but if you look closely at Jeffs and Ryans you can see what I'm talking about. Adjusting the cg is basically a trial and error deal.

build vs. kit
 

Anyone have knowledge of cost to build (including all parts and supplies) vs. buying a kit? I would imagine it is cheaper to build but then again I have never built one. So, for those of you that have built one....what do you think?

By the way, not that it matters but mine would be for a 69 camaro.
