A lap at Road America
from a couple of weeks ago in the 67 Camaro. Sorry for the crappy quality, but the camera mount vibrated a lot.
Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6w03OJ3frEw |

Jeff, I liked the vid - car sounds good! That was the first video I've seen of the track since the Billy Mitchell bridge was taken out.
Here is one of my race vid's from RA (last August). I think I read you were in the 2:4x.xx range - is that right? My best is a 2:39 lap there - but I do it with 285 RWHP (in a 3000 pound Mustang). http://media.putfile.com/Cobra-Hunting-At-Road-America I played the two videos side by side. We are pretty close!! I'd say your top speed is 10 MPH faster than me. I'm making up the difference under braking and corner speeds, especially in the Carrusel. BTW, There was a Noble in my race, probably the same one you saw there - damn fast car. Sux to loose a race to a car with license plates.... Tom |
The fastest lap on my Hot Lap timer was 2:41 and change. I babied it through the carousel and the kink because it really is just a street car. The Noble was dark blue and the guys said they had just put a new engine in it that made in the neighborhood of 640 HP. All that at around 2300 lb. The one time I did pass him, it was with a different driver who was just cruising around. With the other guy in it, I had absolutely nothing for him.
Camaro weighed 3026 when I had it on the scales this spring. That with the 572 HP LS2 makes it giddyup in the straights. Assuming that was an SCCA event Tom? |
