dual fan setup
Ok, here's my problem. I have a zz502 and I am installing a dual electric fan setup on it and I don't know where I can put the sensor for the fan controller? Its the thermostat type sensor that needs to be in a water jacket somewhere, usually on the intake. Right now I have a heater hose in one spot and my temperature gauge in the other.. Is there anywhere else I can locate it? Do I need to move my temperature gauge sensor somewhere else and if so.. where? Thanks..

You can buy a thermostat collar / water neck with a fitting for a sender. Mr Gasket makes inexpensive ones, you can pay up from there, or drill your own and tap for 3/8 pipe.

Thanks Frank.. I'd already thought about that but I just paid $70 for a billet one when I put the new motor in. Surely there's another way????

Isn't there a place on each head that you can use?
|
i guess there's no way you current temp sensor would put out the corect signal to switch the fans on is there??

I Have The Same Motor, I Put Mine On The Drivers Side Head.

your fan comes on after the thermostat opens, and should be controlled by the return water temperature, so ideally the switch should be located in the radiator before the return hose .. and im willing to bet money that your radiator has provisions to screw it in the bottom tank. and if it doesnt, bring it to a radiatorshop and they can braze/weld one in cheaply

Yep, should be a plug in each head. I put mine in the passenger side head, because I have all of my wiring and relays on that side.

I'm going to put mine in the drivers side head because of my dipstick on the passenger side
