Looking for a good (low cost) tubing bender
I'm looking for a good (low cost I know thats a oxymoron:rolleyes: ) tubing bender for custom building as in roll bars, etc. I would like a hydraulic unit but I dont want to spend a fortune as its going to be used just for my own projects and stuff. I liked the one they had on Muscle Car on Spike TV this morning but missed the name of the company who made it and its not on their site.
Thanks, Mike |
You might try one of the hydraulic pipe benders from Harbor Freight. Around $100. They work fine if you take your time.

Agree with the harbor freight ones. You may need to use some type of extension on the lever for the thicker metals.

The use a Tube Shark for some of the shows on Power Block...

Actualy I should have put down for 2500. or less really prefer 2000. or less I would like a hydraulic powered unit. Where I live the nearest shop excluding muffler shops are about 3 hours away, I want to build a roll bar for my car and I want use it and do it as a trial and error setup. I have it built in my brain but it will be rebuilt as needed. I also have some other projects for it.

this morning, lou on muscle car said he was using an 'urban & smith bender', or at least it sounded like that. i just happened to tape the episode and listened to it three times to be as sure as i could. I tried to find some info on it, but came up empty.

end of story, best bender for the money out there, for around 1600 you get a 25 ton ram, air/hydraulic pump and one set of dies, which are billet and will not break like other cast dies 90degree hydraulic unit |

It's Irvan Smith. They are big into supplying circle track shops. Here is the link.
