Cutting a perfectly fresh Z/28
Some might think I am a lunatic or worse cutting in a perfectly fresh 1969 Z/28. Those who have followed my project over the years have seen me doing it before.
So here we go, today I let the hacksaw do its work on the dashpanel to make room for my new center console. http://www.protouring.se/files/dashpanel/mad_man.jpg Going bezerk here. http://www.protouring.se/files/dashpanel/big_hole.jpg Here is whats left after the cutting, a big hole in the dash. http://www.protouring.se/files/dashpanel/fresh.jpg Look how fresh the metal is on the backside. The gray is raw metal and you see just a little hint of rust. This is how this car looks everywhere where the factory didn't reach with the paintguns. It has been preserved really good over the years. http://www.protouring.se/files/dashpanel/new_panel2.jpg And here is the first mockup of the panel. Jan (Mad Man) |
as the ol' saying goes... "anyone can restore an original, it takes a real man to CUT ONE UP!!!"
