Shifting automatically with a computer controlled trans works great under ideal circumstances: straight line acceleration with 100% TPS and zero wheelspin. But under all other scenarios--where part throttle comes into play as a result of compensating for wheelspin, or road racing--the brain will generally out shift the computer.
