Steve- you're shrifter has me looking to adapt a 4L60E to my old Poncho. For now, I'm stuck with a (although not so bad) 200 4R. Oh well; all you 5-million aftermarket SBC and BBC (and now LSx) guys enjoy the fact that you have so many ready-to-go parts available!

Shifting automatically with a computer controlled trans works great under ideal circumstances: straight line acceleration with 100% TPS and zero wheelspin. But under all other scenarios--where part throttle comes into play as a result of compensating for wheelspin, or road racing--the brain will generally out shift the computer.
