I have a 3.54 lsd jag in my Cobra. I have a stroked 427 Side Oiler with over 500HP. I have had no problem with it. I broke the Lower arms, but Hamilton fixed them and put a sleeve and braces at the ends.
I also have a 3.70 steel Corvette diff in the Roarvette. Since you have inboard discs. on the Jag, anything you do to the center section has to deal with that. I would try CWI and see if they can help you. A 3.54 or 3.31 would be nice. It should work fine, and be a lot less work. The Jag. stuff isn't super expensive and is reasonably plentiful.
The other alternative is to just chop off the frame you have, and just put the entire Corvette setup back there. Depends if you can find the parts cheap enough.
I know you have probably already thought of this, but the Jag is strong enough and probably a whole lot less work at this point.
