its a very european thing to like diesels and an american one to hate them! when the germans and french put a diesel in a truck it is about 3 litres or so and will still pull-8or9000lbs and last for 300000miles, when one of the big three build a diesel its about 6-8 litres and wont pull a hell of a lot more and is nowhere near as refined as the technology has never been pushed over here, bmw used to advertise their diesel engine on tv with a coin stood on its edge resting on the valve cover while the motor was running! they are that smooth and quiet, and remember what has been winning at the lemans 24 hr for the last two years, an audi diesel! nothing can touch it! they will never sound as good as a lopey cam in a big block though
