"Way over priced"?

You have to consider what it actually costs to be in business to produce a low volume machined product like the Billet Specialties, Synister, DSE, etc, etc front drive systems.

The machine work and finish on these components is of extremely high quality, both in terms of dimensional precision, and level of cosmetic quality, and that does NOT come cheap as anyone in the machined parts business can attest.

The overhead, in terms of the direct cost of skilled labor and automated multi-axis machining centers is by no means trivial. (there's no toothless guy carving these things out on a rusty old Bridgeport, for beer money).

Add to that the fact that you are also getting a fully polished A/C compressor, a very good alternator, and a compact P/S pump, and the bottom line is that NO ONE is making a "killing" selling these systems for $2000 or so, I can assure you.

And before you ask, no, I don't work for any company that manufactures such systems. -Rob
