I had that idea, too. My biggest issue there is that black center with polished lip seems to be the rage these days, and since i'm trying to not go with HRE's or BBS's like everyone else in the Corvette world, it seems wrong to go black centers.
I was thinking maybe a gunmetal powdercoat, though. The centers have a "hyper silver" powdercoat on them now.
