Hotchkis used 275/40-17 fronts on 17 x 9.5" wheels up front and 315/35-17 rear on 17 x 11" wheels. I spoke with them a long time ago about it and yes, it did require hammering in the seatbelt hump and rolling the fender lip. They said that it still rubbed though. It's a REALLY tight fit, and it fits better on some cars than it does on others. It really pays to measure and do the work to make the tire fit if you really want that size on your car.
