How about the Budnik GTX or Budnik Gasser? I've seen the Gasser on a 69 and I think it looks pretty sharp. Don't look around too much, or you'll drive yourself crazy like I'm in the process of doing. There's just too many choices on the market.
Budnik's should be in your price range per wheel. Not sure on the price of the 18x12's, but the 17x8's will run you around $400 each from Touring Classics. I just got a quote 2 weeks ago from them on 17x11's and 17x8's.
