Start by setting the curve on your HEI....is that the one that came with the engine?
If so that has MSD's advance set up in it so that's a good thing!
Start by installing the black 18 degree bushing with the 2 light blue springs and getting initial about 16 to 18 degrees to start.
I'm not afan of the E-carbs but start with the 750 out of the box and hook a vacuum gage to a small full source and tune both screws to get the highest vacuum reading.
