I dont ever buy cars that are finished. Whats the fun in buying a car thats already done. You dont have any heart or soul into a car if you do it that way. Plus how would I have been able to teach Heather how to weld and do bodywork on cars if I bought one already finished. Buying rusted cars and bringing them back to life is what I do.
To start with, we will be able to build this Fastback conversion way cheaper than most people can imagine especially since I will be doing everything myself.
We managed to pick up her 67 Coupe for only $700.00. Brought it home put a few electrical parts in like starter, distributor, plugs and wires. Instantly started and was drivable. We even drove it to the lake for a photo shoot for Popular Hot Rodding magazine. All the electrical in the entire car works perfect. Meaning heater, dome light, brake lights, turn signals. Everything works perfect. So thats another great start.
After that we welded 2 rear quarter panels on, floor, and so far a pass fender. That was also very cheap.
Now for the best part. We managed to pick up the fastback for the conversion for only $300.00. Incredible deal. We also got the top eleanor front clip for free. Along with picking up the fiberglass trunk lid and extensions for very cheap on e-bay. With all of that we only have a couple grand at most into this car. So for under what you said we would pay for a coupe we already have the entire fastback conversion, a running and fully drivable car, plus Eleanor parts.
Also we will NOT be selling either one of these cars.
