Oh, I disagree. Your roller may need to go based on its specs and powerband. But I do not find adjustment issues at all. The factory cars used to come with solid cams (no rollers), I have run uncountable amounts of solid cams in customer projects and in my own projects. I have not had the valve covers off my street racer in years which run a BIG roller.
A good lock set and girdle are your best friend. If nothing can loosen, then if you need adjustment, something is moving and you have a problem.
Now if your running the typical 104-108 lobe center mega lift drag race cam, as a general rule your probably going to be much happier with a 110 to 114 LC camshaft and you probably want to tame the lift a bit from what you may run on the dragstrip to preserve spring life. There is a huge difference in how long a spring last one quarter mile at a time vs street miles with extended heat cycles. And having to change springs will mean you have to remove the rockers which means...........yes, you will be adjusting them.
