Hey all, newbie here. Maybe this has already been addressed, but I've got issues with my 79 Olds Cutlass G-body wagon (same as Malibu, Monte, Regal etc..) . I had some loose steering issues and found a nasty outer tie rod. Just replaced all tie rods, adjusters, upper ball joints, center link, idler arm, shocks, and cut the springs to drop the car 3" while I was in there. There's still play in the steering wheel and I've tracked it to the box.
If I'm gonna pay for a new box I want a 12:1 deal
but I'll have to save a few pennies for that one. I've heard that GM boxes are adjustable to take up some slack, any tips how to do this in the mean time? Thanks in advance. I'll post photos towards the end of the week.
