i usually use chromapremier 72500 on the high dollar paint jobs. the only draw back i see is that it dries extremely hard. you really have to catch it in the green stage if you dont want to spend a ton of time buffing. on the other hand ive painted 6 or 7 boats lately with the new 7779-G2 clear and have had excellent results.. they were very recent so i couldnt really tell you the hold out.. we spray all our factory cars with the g2 clear and offer a lifetime warranty on the paint job so i guess that counts for something. i like to spray my personal cars with ppg 2021 clear.. i just like the luster and deep look i get out of it. 72500 is pricey, 7779 is very cost efficient with a nice luster and easy buffing, 2021 is comparable to HOK just because its thicker and more "show car-ish" haha..
