And there have been other examples of real nice cars selling at BJ auctions over the last 2 years for much less then anticipated. Back in 2004 - 2006 resto-mod \ pro tour cars were brining big bucks. These days the only cars that are more of a lock to bring big bucks at BJ auctions are number matching, and\or rare original cars.

Bottom line: BJ is a way to go but be prepared to settle for 50K or less or just do not go. It could go for more, and that would be deserved. But, be prepared given the market.\

Take care,

Chris, you make good points. But a Dart is not a 1st Gen Camaro, and think about the demographic that buys popular custom restomod cars under 100k. There are plenty of guys going to there to buy one car like that.

Another risk is the weakening economy and therefore less discretionary spending on toys and such like this. But all it takes at a huge auction like BJ is to have a well put together car. I think this one is one of those cars. I feel strongly that a lot of cars at BJ that are not that impressive or pieced together right still go for big money, even after 2006.

But yes the bottom line is you must be willing to accept the low side of 45-50k net to possibly see that upside of 80-100k if the stars align.
