Yeah, that's what I was thinking exactly - split into two and seek out the empty areas on either side of the radiator. I think this will wait until afterwards, so I can try out the original setup first. The cold air pipes may clutter everything up too much - I kind of like the minimalistic approach.
I've thought about running the plug wires under the headers, but not much room there... You've read my mind on the black wires though, will match everything much better I think.
