I had my car dipped. Its not the first one either.
There is a lot of prep work to do before you take it in. You have to get most of the seam sealer off with easy off oven cleaner or a propane torch. From there you have to be sure all the bolts and such are removed.
When you get it back it will be nice and clean and free of just about everything. You will have to re seal all the seams and put the sound proofing back.
If you dont want to get that involved you can have it media blasted. That will take care of all the paint stuff and rust but leaves most of the sealant.
Depending on where you live it may be possible to get it soda blasted or soda dipped. here in California its getting harder to get anything too caustic done.
