i bought this product in a quart to do my floor pans since there was just surface rust and i wanted some protection. i used a cheap spray gun to lay it down and it turned out good. make sure though that you scuff up everything really good with the required grit and clean all surfaces really well otherwise the rust bullet will flake off. if you have problems with it coming out of the gun evenly you could dilute it with laquer thinner, even though they say don't thin it.
