Brian No Insult taken. That is a question I answer on a regular basis. I have had Sports stars look at Johns car and ask "So is this guy going to have like 80,000 in this thing when it is all done?" Bro the LS7 is 12,000 and the Fikse wheels, and the BFG tires and the.......
I had a guy come into my shop and ask if we knew anything about 57 chevy trucks. I said Yes, we have worked on a few of those, let me show you one. I walked him into the back room where my truck is parked and he was so amazed. He said man that truck is incredible. This guy must have like 20,000 in this truck. I knew right there he had no clue what they were looking at. My response was, well he actually has about 35,000 on the engine and about 4000 hours in the whole build. He did not know what to say. Beings to say I never worked on his truck.
The guys who really appreciate the work we do are guys who are into the build just as much if not more then the end result. The check writers need the shine and trophy's before that door is opened for a shop. Last saturday almost half of my customers met at my shop to check on the progress of their projects, but it amazes me how a sort of brother hood is created becasue of the very similar interests shared among them. They spend just as much time drooling over each others cars as they do there own. The passion for the build is their love.
