That is exactly what happened here. I emailed the local dealership. Here was the response:
"
Hello, Bruce we are taking Sold orders on the Camaro, as far as pricing we don't have these figures yet, on our end the price will be $5,000. over M.S.R.P.what ever that may be we have no control over that, the deposit would be $1,000. if you have any questions please call me xxxxx yyyyy Sales Manager at ..."
I gave him a pleasant but obnoxious response and then immediately called a dealer on "the list" and voila, no markup and they now have the sale. Free enterprise at work.
