i will say that mercedes uses a ceramic clear on most of there newer cars and its fantastic, doesnt chip easily, no swirls, no marring. its extremely expensive but what paint isnt. im not a fan of water based paint but thats because my shop doesnt have the booth for it. water based paint tends to need a certain type of airflow in the paint booth to work properly. it all depends really on what your painter is comfortable with, if he is comfortable and capable then you should be fine!!!!
