I have been using a ProAir 80 gallon 2 stage air compressor for about 10 years now with very little problems. It puts out 17.4 cfm @ 90 psi. IMO I would not buy anything less then a 2 stage 80 gallon with a good cfm rating as Frank said. It keeps up with me when I am sandblasting or running a grinder. You will definitely regret it if you get too small of a unit, it will not cost that much in the long run just to step up a little. I also recommend using a 3 stage system to filter the air. The one I use is by Sharpe, Model 6760.
