Wheel adapters were assumed, and while they would move the wheel out away from the sub-frame, what are you planning to do about the fenders? Moving the tires/wheels away from the frame inherently means moving towards the fender lip...so unless it's lifted and you like the tires hanging outside the body look, I'd still recommend either a narrower front wheel/tire combo or a full-on aftermarket front sub frame designed for wheels like you're talking. You could always go the Sawzall route like the roundy-round guys do to their front fenders.
