they do set the engine back, as far as practical for the LS and still fit most popular applications; however, they're further forward than a standard small block at the bellhousing flange. Reason being the LS motors are very flat at the rear of the block, with the passenger head nearly equal with the bellhousing flange, whereas the small and big blocks extend the bellhousing flange further behind the head.

On my Chevelle with the same frame stands as the standard small block had the ATS mounts moved the rear of the engine about 1.25" or so forward, requiring me to lengthen my driveshaft. So to answer your question, I don't think any of the LS adaptor mounts will put your shifter hole further rearward, probably an inch or more forward. I don't know of any mounts that keep it in the stock location bellhousing-wise. Many put the motor higher and further forward than the ATS style mount.
