You can buy a 12:1 trans am WS6 or camaro fast ratio gear box for under 40$. Check ebay or call around some salvage yards. (The best bet is to get a monte carlo SS one, it's the exact same box albeit not as fast ratio.) The problem with the f body box is their internal stops are a bit thicker than the g body's which causes the turning radius to be larger when transplanted - okay for normal driving but not in tight places. You could also scrape some metal on the frame by the LCA mount when turning which can be prevented with some thin rubber stoppers. For me it's worth some rubber stoppers and pulling forward/backing up a couple times in the parking lot than to pay 1,000% more for the same performance (new 12:1 G body boxes are around 400$)
