Just to add some more information:

Up until Timken started making hub assemblies, there was one manufacturer at a time making these hubs out of three. Quality and appearance is almost exactly the same for each. Normally I would agree that BCA bearings are "moderate" quality, but theirs was just a reboxed hub from one of three manufacturers.

I talked to the design engineer at SKF about the new ZR1 hubs. These things are amazing and should be considered for anybody who puts any REAL abuse on their car. If your car is 90% street, I wouldn't bother with them.

We looked at redrilling the C6 hubs for 1/2" studs, but there are very few studs out there that have the correct knurl. Common 1/2" studs require too large of a hole to be drilled and significantly compomises the strength because it leaves little material between it and the outer hub diameter.
