I would put together a build sheet of what you honestly want and can afford to build...forget keeping up with the Jones' this hobby is like PC's, always better parts coming out and it's to damn hard to keep up...just outline the car you know you will be able to afford/finish.
Then see how many or little changes you would have to make to the car you own now and see if you can justify keeping it or if you really need to start with a differant car.
Most of all be honest with yourself...and have fun with it!!
