These cars never had great sealing anyway but you can get it to fit. Be absolutely sure your glass is original, your roof rail chanels are not bent, and that the weatherstrip is correct. Some of the units currently on the market do not seal very well. There is also the possibility that the body is slightly tweaked as the area you are having trouble with is a high stress area of the body. Anyway, if you've exhausted all adjustment settings, you can shim the roof rail channel to get a better fit towards the front. Just be sure to install foam tape between the body and rail from front to rear to prevent leaks and wind noise.
