Default Update on "Liberator" 65 Malibu

I have been working hard to get the body work and paint done on my 65 Malibu and here is the progress.

I apologize for the engine being so filthy. I am really doing this project backwards right now since I am doing paint first. I will be doing all the suspension later when funds allow. I work part-time at a Corvette restoration shop, so I have access to everything to take care of the body work first.

I have made several patch panels. I have a new glasstek 2" cowl hood going on, one new front fender, and both rear quarters will be replaced.

I stripped the car back mostly to metal with Capt. Lee's Auto Spra-Strip. The car is mostly in Du Pont Epoxy primer as of today, but I will have those pics tomorrow when I get it out of the booth.

Keep in mind I am doing all this myself and still learning more along the way.

Now for the pics.

This is the drivers door edge by the latch. pic is turned on its side. I had to cut the rust out and make a panel to wrap around the edge like the factory skin.

here is the panel I butt welded in.

Rust, Rust, and more Rust. It will all be taken care of soon.

And these are random pics showing the stripping.
