Your getting some serious bind, and I would suspect that something was installed incorrectly. Have you taken measurements of the suspension compared to the body of the car? Here is a link to a 68 same as 67 body dimension sheet -

It doesn't have the measurement from the body mounts to the lower control arm center??? I can't find one anywhere sorry.
