Flash, you may get Db tested when you go get your car inspected at the CHP. In that case, turndowns are pretty loud. I'm not sure you could get away with them there with a loud exhaust like that. If you don't get that tested, they liked your car. The reason I say this is because I've had my car run without tail pipes. Straight out of the 40 series Flowmaster's. It shook a Mountain View police car when the choke was on and I got a ticket for that. I put tail pipes on it and it quieted the car down A LOT. My neighbor's Mustang had turndowns and my dad measured it at around 94db when driving past our front door, and my car was around 84 with the tail pipes. I think California state law is around the 95db area. Full tailpipes do help a lot with how loud the car winds up. That and it makes it easier to talk inside the car. Now, while I did like the car's sound when it was without tails on it, with tails makes it a bit more bearable for others.
