you're running a bellhousing adaptor it looks like, which if you are, is causing the issue. On a Chevy that trans bolts right up to the block and should clear fine, but with that aluminum spacer deal it shoves the trans right back into the tunnel.

Wasn't thinking of the Olds engine vs Chevy trans. Not the trannies fault, it's the adaptor that shoves the trans so far back. Is there anything shorter?
