Back in "the day" -- like 1971 -- I owned a 66 Vette coupe. It happened to have A/C and power windows.. My parents had a Ford F-250 with a camper on it. We swapped that summer so they could drive my nice A/C car to Carson City to see my grandparents... I used the Camper to hit the Oregon coast...

My car came back wrecked.

I had a 2008 BMW M5 -- I have two college kids... one boy - one girl. Alex is home for break... and I'm out at a car show - so I call him and ask him if he wants to come out and meet me - of course he wants to drive the "5" out - which I allow - with the usual admonition - BE CAREFUL and don't hot rod it!
It's parked out back by "the shed" -- it's a long driveway -- but also very wide!
He doesn't make it to the street - Bent the rim on a Forgiato 3 pc'r - tore up the back bumper (plastic crap) and destroys the tire... He calls me and tells me the 'news' - to which I said - WTF were you doing?! He says he was being careful but didn't see the big rocks at the end of the driveway... BS! He was doing the stereo - or texting - of whatever... but whatever it was - it wasn't DRIVING! Can't turn this kind of crap into the insurance... the tire and rim is $900 and the paint etc is another $1500... I hate him for the rest of his break. He hasn't driven any of 'our' cars since - that was a year ago. I have cool cars - he would really really like to drive a couple of them - that ain't happenin' until there is serious pain seared into his pea brain... Adrienne gets to drive 'em all -- she hasn't scratched one yet -- and because she respects the power etc - and is 'afraid' of them - I've had no 'reports' of her hammering 'em. Where I live - everyone knows my cars - and I'd hear about it before she even got home!
