Lucky break on the crash/ sale thing Jeff.
I was not so lucky. I had a decent '68 rs Camaro and didn't respect the power and lack of brakes (4 wheel drum). I was 18 and even more stupid than I am now (20 years later I still learn stuff the hard way, must be genetics?). Anyway, while waiting to make a left turn through oncoming traffic I saw a SMALL opening and showing off for my buddies in the car lit up the tires, started sliding the back end to the right then caught traction. I was launched into a Ford LTD waiting on the other side of the road I was turning onto. My car was totaled, his car looked like someone went at it with a can opener from the back of the door to the rear bumper. I felt like a total idiot and paid dearly for it. The big difference? It was MY camaro that I PAID for. I also paid for all of the damage to the Ford I hit. Kids and fast cars can be a disaster. But it's when no lesson is taken from it that those kids need to be removed from the driving population. I was on the bus for a year after that and I learned a valuable lesson. I hope my son learns from my mistakes and not his own.
