I guess it is time for the monday morning update.
The Rear quarters, floor and outer wheel tubs from Classic Industries are all landed and tacked in the car. We decided to make our own package tray and the section from the package tray to the rear winodow channel. Our Custom build 35 spline axles from Strange Engineering arrived, We are waiting on our "NEW" 35 spline truetrac to be avaliable to get the built to order center section from Strange Engineering some time next month. The 14" Wilwood brakes have arrived and we installed them for mockup both front and rear. The anodized black Ring Brother hinges have been installed, They work so smooth. We have a set of Ring Brother hood pins, but cannot install them until we get the front sheetmetal fit perfectly. Those beautiful Anvil Auto carbon parts are hard to repair if you damage them, so measure twice cut once.
We had a small problem with getting to run the Silver State Classic next month. The rollcage we had choosen from Chassisworks was an 1.625 cage. We choose that to save weight and in any of the sanctioning bodies we would have ran, they would not have required anything more. Well as soon as we are going to run the Silver State faster then 125, they required a 1.75" x .120 DOM cage. We cannot run that fast our first year, but I hate having to go back and change stuff. Chassisworks said they would get us a 1.75" cage but they were out of stock and it would be 2 weeks. Well when you have 7 weeks to get the car running 2 weeks is alot of time to be set back. So I decided we would pass on the Silver State this year and just focus on being ready for the Optima Street Car Shootout in November. Well Enjoy the pics and lets see how much we get done this week. 10 days till she has to be in Pleasanton in the Chassisworks booth.
