Sure we could have built the cage and put corvette stuff in the car and done any of a number of a million other things, but the plan for the car is to build it with off the shelf parts and just add our spin here and there just to clean things up. It is actually kinda fun and a challenge to figure out how to make think as trick as we try to do on a daily basis, but in a cheaper less labor intensive fashion.
For Example, The dry sump tank we have discussed with more smarter people then me and they had the idea of put it behind the right front tire in the fire wall, but how would you do that or have access? So we came up with the bring idea of tanking the Peterson Tank and welding the base of the new Air ride Fuel cap to the top of it so the fuel cap sticks out through the outside of the right front fender. It should make people say hay why is that here? Or they may just hate it. It reminds me of Smokey Yunick who filled the oil tank in the passenger seat area.
Wait till you see what we do with the Dual Optima Batteries in the back seat.
