I tend to do things a bit different, but it was important to me to "hide" as much of the system as possible. I actually installed the drier in the passenger cowl. However, it could have easily been mounted on the firewall about where the old blower motor hole was. There is no difference in performance of the unit with it there or up front.

I did something different on the condenser too. I bought my VA through DS&E. It has holes on each side of the unit. I lined it up with the core then drilled four holes (one in each corner). I tack welded 1/4 x 20 bolts to the core facing forward to make studs through the holes I drilled. I then used a 1/2" spacer on each stud and slid the condenser on to of that. The result is an ultra clean look without the sheetmetal screws running all over the core.
