As for cost, it really depends on the shop. Many charge around $100/hr.

My entire Barracuda, inside and out and everything but the hood, cost me about $1200. Most shells are around $800 or so.

I spent alot of time getting 99% of the undercoating off before I took it. Media can take it off but it takes along time if its thick. So one way to save some $$ is do that part yourself.

As for prep....take EVERYTHING off the car. If you have some panels that you know will be replaced, cut sections out to allow the blaster to get to the structure underneath. Dont cut out enough to weaken the car, but enough to get to areas that cant be reached with the panel in place.
