The thermal insulation is called Wrap on Water Heater insulation, which is a water heater insulator that a few friends i have are using (available at harware stores i got mine at westlake ACE hardware for 17 bucks for 1 x 36 foot roll). We used 3 rolls of that stuff then went on to use 4 sq yards of jute under the carpet (10 bucks a yard). All comes out to be a good bit cheaper than dynamat and it should do more than well enough for my application. I cut aluminum patches to cover the gaps to the trunk behind the rear seat, siliconed them into place as a temporary thing (didn't want anythign permanent because i might do something different down the road).
**Note: Girlfriend did most the interior insulation, i just cut the aluminum, she laid 95% of the wrap on and jute**(She is now, and i mean right now, under the car putting my O2 sesors in place)
Working now on the hydraulic T56 bracket still and i've almost got that in place.
The LT1 is stock for now with VERY few mods which include, no Cats, no EGR, AIR, or EVAP stuff, TB bypass, headers, CAI, Plugs and wires and true dual 2 1/2 in exhaust. More stuff in the future but for now it's just a driver.
